ABILENE – Abilene Christian opened its home men's tennis season with wins over Texas-Permian Basin and Hardin-Simmons on Friday.
The Cats defeated UTPB, 6-1, and HSU, 7-0.
Daniel Morozov,
Merse Deli and
Mihaly Deli claimed two singles wins each.
The Cats used five different doubles tandem with each one claiming a victory.
"We're just happy to be here and have friends and family around and just being able to play on your own courts," said ACU Head Coach Juan Nunez. "The first four matches that we played this season we weren't the favorite paper. On paper, we weren't supposed to win those four matches. Today, we're the one that's expected to win and so the guys felt a different pressure."
