ABILENE - The second annual Tri-College Worship night will be hosted at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday at 7:30 pm. This gathering unites students - from Abilene Christian University (ACU), Hardin Simmons University (HSU), and McMurry University (MCM) - to fellowship, worship, and honor the memory of Kade Parmelly.
The worship night has been renamed the "Kade Parmelly Tri-College Worship Night" to honor the significant impact he had on the Abilene community both as a football student-athlete at ACU and leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) organization.
The program will commence with a heartfelt tribute to Kade, followed by a brief message from his parents. As the worship experience unfolds, speakers representing each of the three colleges in Abilene will share their perspectives about the theme of gratitude, fostering unity in a shared spiritual experience.
This event serves as a testament to the power of community, bringing together students from different academic institutions to honor a beloved individual and strengthen the bonds of fellowship.
"This worship night is about bringing the student-athlete community in Abilene together to fellowship, worship, and honor God who has blessed us to be in the positions we are in. Kade was born and raised in Abilene and was an incredible light and example of using his God-given talent to shine in sports while keeping a heart of posture, humility, and gratitude towards God. We honor Kade as a man who loved God and loved people."
-Anthony Egbo Jr., SAAC President and Football Student-Athlete (ACU)
"The Kade Parmelly Tri-College Worship Night is a unique opportunity for our student-athlete community in Abilene. It's a moment for reflection, a chance to acknowledge the role of God in our lives, and an occasion to honor a community member's legacy. We celebrate this night as an avenue to strengthen our collective commitment to both personal development and spiritual formation of our student-athletes. This event goes beyond the sports arena, serving as a meaningful step in fostering a deeper connection among our student-athletes and reinforcing the values that guide us both on and off the field."
-Heather Wyatt, Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA (ACU)
