Box Score ABILENE – Texas A&M-Commerce got the final pendulum swing in a match of serious momentum changes, defeating Abilene Christian 3-2 on Tuesday.
The Lions won 25-21, 14-25, 27-25, 24-26, 15-11.
After dropping the first set, the injury-laden Wildcats blew open a close second set with a 5-0 run for a 14-7 lead.
Breanna Box closed the set with a kill.
The Cats had command for most of the third set and led 24-18 before the Lions seized the momentum for seven unanswered points before
Braden Bossier tied the game at 25-25 with a kill. TAMU-C got the next two points and took the win.
ACU trailed the fourth set 24-22 but
Ashli Edmiston got a kill to spark a 4-0 run to victory. Box added two kills and
Rachel Koss finished it off with another.
The Wildcats led 9-6 in the final set but momentum took its final turn back to the Lions, who finished off the match on a 9-2 run.
Braden Bossier led ACU with 19 kills, Edmiston added 18 and Box 11. Koss led with 49 assists.
Abby Christian was credited with five aces.
Bossier was in on four blocks.
Sara Carrizales led the back row with 14 digs with Edmiston adding 10.
The Wildcats, 1-2, host a tournament this weekend, playing Providence at 1 p.m. and North Dakota at 3 p.m. on Friday and Grambling State at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
