Cats Travel to UTA, UTRGV for Big Matches

ABILENE – Abilene Christian embarks on an important two-match week with WAC stops at Texas-Arlington on Thursday and Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Saturday.
 
The Wildcats are the lone 2-0 team in the WAC and the Thursday match pits the only two teams unbeaten in conference action this season.
 
ACU is 11-9 overall while the Mavericks roll in at 10-7 overall and 1-0 in the WAC after an easy 6-1 win over UTRGV.
 
Wildcats Daniel Morozov and Cesar Barranquero enter the week with nine singles wins each this spring with Dario Kmet at 2-0 in the league. Savan Chhabra and Ethan Scribner have been reliable all season long with a 12-6 mark in doubles, including a 2-0 WAC record.
 
Arlington's Anton Shepp has been solid with 11 singles win this semester, including a 10-5 mark in first singles. Solano Cafferena and Shepp are 9-3 in doubles.
 
UTRGV hosts New Mexico State on Thursday and comes into the week at 5-14 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Emilien Burnel leads the Vaqueros with nine singles wins and eight doubles wins with partner Borna Devald.
