BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Abilene Christian shot a final-round 285 and finished eighth on Sunday in the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship.

The Wildcats had two eagles in the final round.
Thomas Buisson eagled the par-5, 533-yard fifth hole and
Brian Comegys had an eagle on the par-5, 579-yard 13
th hole.

Zane Heusel led the tournament for the Cats in 14
th place, going 72-66-73 for 211. Buisson was three-under on the final round to finish 72-75-69 for 216 and in a 31
st-place tie with
Charlie Jackson, who went 74-69-73.

Logan Diomede was 58
th at 229 with rounds of 71, 76 and 82.
Brian Comegys, who subbed-in for the final two rounds, had a 72 and a 70.

Heusel in round three had birdies on holes five, seven and nine. In addition to his eagle, Buisson's low round for ACU included birdies on two, nine, 11, 16 and 18.

In his final-round 70, Comegys had birdies on seven, 12 and 16 to go along with his eagle.

Jackson had three birdies on Sunday, reducing his score on holes two, nine and 11. Diomede had birdies on three and 12.

For the tournament, ACU had three eagles; one each by Jackson, Comegys and Buisson. Hesuel led the team with a dozen birdies, followed by Jackson and Buisson with 11 each, Comegys with nine, Diomede with seven and
Grégoire Hoyeau with two.

Grand Canyon won the team championship at 11 under at 830, beating New Mexico State by five strokes. ACU was eighth at 856 for eight-under-par.

Garrison Smith of NMSU won the individual title at 19 under, beating Utah Tech's Davis Heslington by seven strokes.
