ABILENE – Abilene Christian heads to Fort Worth on Tuesday to battle TCU in a 6:30 p.m. contest.
The Wildcats narrowly missed a 2-0 start in the WAC, falling in double-overtime at Stephen F. Austin on Saturday. The Cats are 4-3 on the season.
TCU is off to its best start at 8-0 after an 82-50 win over Tulsa on Friday.
ACU Storylines
Fresh Points:
Payton Hull showed her ability at Navy last month with a 34-point outing that tied the ACU Division I era record for points in a game. She followed that up last week with a 31-point game against UT-Arlington and a 25-point showing against Stephen F. Austin. She's averaging 30 points over the last three games. Hull is the first ACU player since 2020 to hit 20-plus points in three consecutive games.
Earle of Triple-Doubles: Bella Earle shared the national lead in triple-doubles with Zaay Greene of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and is the only NCAA player to get back-to-back triple-doubles this season. Earle at 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Navy and 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against UT-Arlington. ACU hadn't had a player reach 10 assists in a game since Breanna Wright in the 2019-2020 season.
Purple Arches: Payton Hull and
Aspen Thornton are first and third in the WAC in three-point shooting percentage. Hull leads at 45.6 percent and Thornton checks in at 42.4. The Wildcats are eighth in the nation with 9.7 three-pointers per game and ninth with 28.6 three-point attempts per game.
Second Chances: ACU averages 15.3 offensive rebounds per game, which is 35
th nationally and tops in the WAC.
Addison Martin has been the individual leader for ACU in that category at 3.5 per game.
