NEWTON, Kansas – A tough final round saw Abilene Christian finish in a tie for seventh at the Shocker Invitational on Tuesday.
The Cats shot 295 in the final round.
Zane Heusel led the Wildcats in 11th place, shooting 75 in the final round for a three-round six-under-par total of 210. He had birdies on holes 3, 4, 12 and 16.
Charlie Jackson led the Cats in the final round with a 71, getting birdies on holes 2, 3, 4, 10, 12 and 16. Jackson finished in a tie for 21st at 214 (two-under-par).
Thomas Buisson ended the tournament in a tie for 49th at 220 after his round of 76 on Tuesday. He birdied holes 2 and 4.
Grégoire Hoyeau birdied holes 1 and 16 on Tuesday in his round of 73. He finished 56th at 221.
Brian Comegys finished in a tie for 71st at 226 after a round of 78.
ACU had three eagles in the tournament with Heusel getting two and Jackson one.
The Cats also had 52 birdies over the three rounds, led by Jackson with 14. Heusel had 12, Buisson 11, Comegys eight and Hoyeau seven.
