ABILENE – Abilene Christian men's tennis begins its three-match stay in Colorado Springs on Friday with East Tennessee State, followed on Saturday with a match against Montana and wrapping up on Sunday with host Air Force.

The Wildcats come in at 2-1 after sweeping Lubbock Christian and Hardin-Simmons last weekend.

All nine ACU men have seen the court this season and the Wildcats have fashioned a 13-5 record in singles with
Cesar Barranquero,
Savan Chhabra,
Mihaly Deli,
Benjamin McDonald and
Ethan Scribner hammering out two wins each. Scribner and Deli are both 2-0.

The Wildcats have deployed six different doubles tandems and have pulled together a 6-2 record in doubles. Chhabra and Scribner have been the constant, forging a 2-1 record while playing at all three lines.

It will be the first meeting between ACU and ETSU at 5 p.m., Mountain time. The Bucs are off to an 0-3 start with losses to Mississippi State, South Alabama and Clemson. Thiago Pernas is 1-0 in No.1 singles and 2-0 in doubles.

The Wildcats and Griz met in Colorado Springs four years ago with ACU getting the 5-2 win. They square off again at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Montana is 3-1 after cruising to three shutout wins in a tour of Washington in which they twice defeated Division III Whitworth before blanking Eastern Washington. Sam Baldwin is 4-0 for the Griz across the first four lines.

Air Force enters at 1-0 after a 4-3 home win against Rice. The Cats have a 4-3 record against Air Force, having won the last four. All but one of those seven matches were played in Colorado. The teams meet at 10 a.m. Mountain time on Sunday.
