Two Wildcats notch double-doubles in season opener

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Wildcats got their 2022 season underway at the Lobo Invitational where they faced the Titans of Cal State Fullerton on Friday afternoon. After a tight first set went to the Titans in extra points, the momentum swung in Fullerton's favor as they went on to win in straight sets. Both Ashli Edmiston and Madeline Guffy earned double-doubles in their team debut and four different Wildcats tallied double digit digs.

- Edmiston led the team with 12 kills and 14 digs earning a double-double in her collegiate debut.
- Both middles were efficient in limited attempts on the day, Brea Box led the team hitting .600 while Braden Bossier hit .400 on the day.
- Guffy earned her double-double with a team-high 17 assists and 10 digs.
- Madison Rohre added 13 assists and just missed a double-double with nine digs.
- Logan Browning stepped into the libero role and matched a team-high with 14 digs.
- The Wildcats now move to 0-2 all time against the Titans, the teams last met in 2019 in Abilene.
- Four different Wildcats totaled double-digit digs and the team tallied 65 in the match. The 65 digs ties for the fourth-most in a three-set match in the DI era. It was also the most digs in a three-set match since 2019 when the team had 63 in a sweep of McNeese.
