DENVER – A day after the ACU season opener against Lamar was confirmed, the Western Athletic Conference announced an updated league schedule for each of its six football institutions. Road games are the only changes for the Wildcats, and the WAC schedule will now include only five games instead of the original six.
The five home games that remain unchanged include a Sept. 1 contest against Lamar, Sept. 10 against Prairie View A&M, Sept. 24 against Western New Mexico, a homecoming date against new league member Southern Utah on Oct. 15, and the regular season finale against SFA on Nov. 19.
The first notable change for the Purple and White comes on October 8, when ACU will head to Nacogdoches for a non-conference tilt with SFA. The head-to-head matchup on Nov. 19 will serve as the WAC contest. The Wildcats had a similar scheduling concept in 2021 against Lamar, defeating the Cardinals in both contests.
ACU will now have a Week 8 bye on Oct. 22 and will then be on the road for three straight weeks. The Oct. 29 trip to North Dakota is unchanged, but the 'Cats have moved their rivalry game against Tarleton to Nov. 5.
Abilene Christian will head to Huntsville to take on Sam Houston on Nov. 12 before returning home for the final week against SFA.
Homecoming and season tickets are available at ACUSports.com/tickets or by calling the ACU Ticket Office at 325-674-CATS (2287). The duration of single-game tickets is set to go on sell in the coming weeks.
