Edmiston named to the WAC All-Freshman team

ARLINGTON, Texas — Following the conclusion of the regular season over the weekend, the WAC office has released their all-conference selections for the 2022 season. The Wildcats finished 7-19 on the year and 4-10 in WAC play, just missing out on a bid to the conference tournament. Freshman outside hitter Ashli Edmiston earned All-Freshman team honors after a stellar year one where she was top two on the team in several stats on the year.
All-Freshman Team: Ashli Edmiston | 5-8 | Fr. | OH | Wilsonville, Ore. / Wilsonville HS
- Started and played in all 26 matches (103 sets)
- Averaged 2.48 kills per set and 2.83 points per set, both second on the team
- 255 kills on the season, the second-most by a freshman since the Wildcats' move to DI
- Led the team in total digs with 255, averaging 2.48 digs per set
- Had 15 double-digit kill outings and nine double-doubles on the season
- Career-high 16-kill match against Texas State
- Career-high 18-dig performances against TCU and Grand Canyon
- Second on the team in aces with 27, tied for the fifth-most in a season in the DI era.
