Grigsby leads Wildcats at Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS – The ACU golf team wrapped up the third tournament of the fall on Tuesday, finishing the Trinity Forest Invitational in 16th place as a team. The Wildcats have now taken part in the event for five consecutive years, with newcomer Karson Grigsby leading the way for the Purple and White.

Grigsby, a freshman and Abilene native, paced the Wildcats with a three-round score of 216, highlighted with a two-under round of 72 on Day Two. Charlie Jackson was ACU's second finisher at 218, while Jaime Lewis was on his heels with a score of 223. Zane Heusel was two strokes behind him, and freshman Thomas Buisson rounded out the Wildcat scoring with a three-round total of 227.

The Purple and White turned in 49 birdies for the tournament while Grigsby turned in ACU's lone eagle. The Wildcats dominated the long holes, producing a team score of 3-under on par-fives.

ACU will close out the fall campaign in two weeks, when they open the Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club.
