Karson Grigsby eagled the 12th hole and birdied six others in leading Wildcat golf this week at the Little Rock Invitational with a 13-over 229. His effort tied him for 54th place at the Chenal Country Club's Founders Course out of 90 competitors.
Grigsby, a freshman and Wylie High School product, recorded his eagle during Monday's first round as he registered only three shots on the par-5, 513 yard hole. He also birdied the second and 15th holes during yesterday's morning session, and recorded three additional birdies on holes 1, 9 and 10 in the second round. He again birdied the par-5 ninth hole (538 yards) on Tuesday.

Zane Heusel also carded twos on the sixth hole as the Wildcats finished the three-round, two-day tournament with 29 birdies.
The Wildcats placed 16th as a team (57-over 921) with round-by-round scores of 300, 304 and 317.
Southern Mississippi won the team title at 1-over 865 led by individual medalist Ryan Dupuy (8-under 208).
ACU's demanding spring slate of tournaments begins Feb. 20 at Rice's Bayou Intercollegiate. The Wildcats also travel to tournaments hosted by Grand Canyon, Ohio State, Houston and Mississippi State before defending their WAC Championship crown in Boulder City, Nev. the weekend of April 28. ACU also again will be part of the talented Cabo Collegiate field March 5-7.
