Week 11: ACU reignites rivalry with Tarleton

ABILENE – The ACU football team is back at home this weekend for the first time in nearly a month, hosting rival Tarleton at Wildcat Stadium. The two teams have not met since the 2013 season and haven't played in Abilene since 2010, when ACU picked up a 65-3 victory.

Abilene Christian (4-5, 1-1 WAC)
Kobe Clark moved into sole possession of third place on the school's all-time list for receptions last week, surpassing Josh Fink (2016-19) with a 17-yard catch in the second quarter against Jacksonville State. He finished his day with 143 receiving yards, giving him back-to-back games with north of 100 yards.
- In addition to throwing for 300 yards, Peyton Mansell took the team lead in rushing touchdowns after getting in the end zone twice on the ground last weekend. He now has five rushing scores for the season, while Tyrese White and Anthony Smith are on his heels with three apiece.
- Linebacker Hunter Kier continues to be one of the most consistent tacklers in the Western Athletic Conference, racking up another nine last weekend to maintain his team lead in that category.

Tarleton (5-4, 2-2 WAC)
- The Texans have won three of their last four games entering play this week, including last Saturday's 42-21 defeat of Lamar. Tarleton has gone 4-1 in Stephenville this year but has struggled to a 1-3 record away from home.
- Last weekend, quarterback Steven Duncan tossed for more than 300 yards for the second consecutive game, and he has thrown 11 touchdowns with just one interception over his last four games.
- Ryheem Skinner, Braelon Bridges and Derrel Kelley III each provided a rushing score for Texans against Lamar, as the multi-back Tarleton offense continues to spread the wealth while averaging 168 yards per game on the ground.
