Anuat finds net in the second half at UTRGV

EDINBURG, Texas – Senior Alyssia Anuat scored in the second half, Nicole Barham and Laura Mauldin had two shot attempts each, but the ACU soccer team fell on the road to the UTRGV Vaqueros Thursday night. The Wildcats (6-8-1, 4-4-1 WAC) trailed 2-0 at halftime, but the second-half goal got them within striking distance before falling 2-1. ACU remains at 13 points in the league standings going into the final day of the season on Saturday.

WAC Implications
- SFA has already won the regular-season championship and have locked up the No. 1 seed in the division.
- Lamar defeated Chicago State Thursday and moved into second place with 17 points.
- Sam Houston sits in third with 15 points after having the night off of the schedule.
- ACU has 13 points, and need a win and a Sam Houston loss to qualify for the conference tournament. The top three in the division go to the league tournament next week.

- 7' | Anna Barkley scored for UTRGV.
- 18' | Emily Zapata put the Vaqueros up 2-0.
- 69' | ACU got on the board when Christina Arteaga put a perfect ball in for Anuat, who adjusted and sent a laser through the back of the net.

- UTRGV led 12-11 on shot attempts, but led just 5-3 in shots placed on goal.
- ACU led 9-5 in corner kicks.
- Barham and Mauldin each recorded two shot attempts to lead the 'Cats.
