
ACU and Angelo State meet for first time in eight years

ABILENE – ACU soccer will play its fourth game of the seven-game fall schedule this weekend as they battle the Belles of Angelo State at Elmer Gray Stadium on Friday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match can be seen on ACUSports.com. It will be the first meeting between the schools in eight seasons as ACU plays the first of four straight home games.

SERIES HISTORY
- ACU is 7-3 all-time against its former rivals from the Lone Star Conference of NCAA Division II.
- The two teams last met in 2012, with Angelo State winning both meetings that season.
- Angelo State leads the series 2-1 all-time in Abilene.
ACU STORYLINES
- ACU dropped its season opener to Louisiana, 2-0, before earning a 1-1 tie with SFA on opening weekend in Lafayette, La. and Nacogdoches, Texas. The Wildcats are coming off a road win back on Sept. 13 at Texas State, winning 3-2 in overtime.
- Head coach Casey Wilson is four wins away from 150 in his career, with a current record of 146-93-22.
- Erin Smith is 1-1-1 in the net so far this season, and has faced 49 shots.
- Christina Arteaga's 17 shot attempts lead the way, while Natalie Jones has recorded seven. Arteaga's six shots on frame are a team-best.
