MBB to host Houston Baptist on Wednesday night

ABILENE, Texas  Coming off their largest margin of victory in Southland Conference play, a 35-point win over Lamar on Saturday night, the Wildcats will look to back it up with another dominant home performance. ACU has defended home court exceptionally well on the season holding a 10-2 record in Moody Coliseum. Wednesday evening the team will look for their 11th win at home when the Huskies of Houston Baptist come to Abilene.

SERIES HISTORY
- The series dates back to the 1997-98 season when head coach, Joe Golding, was a member of the Wildcat men's basketball team. In the first meeting the Wildcats won 106-89.
- The Wildcats lead the series 7-3, including a 6-0 record at home.  
- In their last meeting, ACU came away with the 75-68 victory in Moody Coliseum.
- This will be the first of two meetings for the teams this season, they will play again one week from tomorrow. This will be the first time the teams have played twice in a season since 2015-16.
- The last time the two teams met twice in a season, they split the series with each team winning on their home court.

ACU STORYLINES
- In their previous four home games the Wildcats have held their opponents to an average of 54.5 points per game.
- Payten Ricks is coming off a career-high seven made threes in the game against Lamar.
- Joe Pleasant has scored in double figures in seven straight games.
- Clay Gayman earned his third start of the season against Lamar, he scored 13 points on 6-6 shooting as well as totaling four rebounds and two blocks.
- The Wildcats shot .469 from three-point range against Lamar, their highest shooting percentage from deep against a DI opponent this season.
- Damien Daniels dished out five assists against Lamar, his seventh game of the season with five or more assists.

SCOUTING HBU
- The Huskies are the highest scoring team in the Southland, averaging 81.67 points per game.
- Guard, Ian DuBose, leads the Southland in scoring averaging 19.48 points per game.
- HBU has given up 100-plus points in ten games this season.
- The Huskies have won three games this season, all in conference play. They have wins against Central Arkansas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and at Southeastern Louisiana.
