ABILENE - Wildcat Stadium is open to everyone Saturday for Abilene Christian's "Meet The Wildcats" scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. This is the program's final intrasquad of fall camp with just a week to go before its 2019 season opener Aug. 31 at North Texas.
Admission and parking for the four-quarter contest are free with gates opening at 5 p.m. Concessions also will be available. All stadium rules and regulations will be in effect so please download and read the Football Fan Guide.
The most-familiar Wildcats will be wearing White jerseys. This includes last year's quarterbacking duo of Luke Anthony and Sema'J Davis, the three-pronged running attack of Tracy James, Billy McCrary and Tyrese White, plus a host of returning receivers led by Josh Fink and recent scholarship recipient Kobe Clark.
Three Abilene-area high school players - Slayde Anderson (Abilene HS), Jon Crisp (Abilene Christian HS) and Kade Parmelly (Wylie HS) wil help anchor the offensive line, while another Key City playmaker Qua'Shawn Washington is one of seven listed linebackers along with preseason All-Southland Conference selection Jeremiah Chambers.
Former Eagle Oscar Hernandez is expected to wear a black No. 67 jersey for this game and will likely handle most kickoffs, field goals and extra points.
The clock will run through all four quarters, stopping only for injuries, possession changes and scores. There also will be a bonus two-minute drill at the conclusion of the first half, leading into a 10-minute break. The game is expected to conclude by 7:15 p.m.
