ACU and SFA Meet on the Diamond on Easter Weekend

ABILENE – The ACU softball team (9-26, 2-16 SLC) opens a six-game home stand after a short stint on the road last weekend at Sam Houston State. The Wildcats match up with the Ladyjacks of Stephen F. Austin (27-16, 12-6 SLC), winners of five games in a row. For the holiday weekend, the team will have its first-ever Easter Egg Hunt Saturday afternoon after the game.

WEEKEND COVERAGE… Friday night's doubleheader at Poly Wells Field will begin at 5 p.m. (7 p.m. for Game 2), and will have a live stat option only. Saturday's game will start at 12 p.m. and will also have a live stat option.

EASTER EGG HUNT… At the conclusion of Saturday's game, the team will host fans, friends, family, and more on the field for its first-ever Easter Egg Hunt. Fans are encouraged to bring their own baskets, and the players and coaches will be out on the field with everyone to have a good time. If you don't remember to bring your basket, ACU will have a few extras on hand.

THE SERIES… ACU and SFA will take the diamond for games 16-18 between the schools since 2014, when the Wildcats joined the NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference. The Wildcats hold a very slight 8-7 edge in the series, but SFA won the final game of a three-game set last season in Nacogdoches. The teams have split the previous six games at Poly Wells Field, and will meet in Abilene for the first time since 2017. The SFA win in the final game last year snapped a six-game winning streak in the series for the Wildcats.
