Weather Halts Golfs Opening Tournament; ACU Places 15th

MOBILE, Ala. – The ACU golf team got through 36 holes of its spring season before Mother Nature intervened. The Mobile Sports Authority Invitational ended before the final round got underway Tuesday, and the Wildcats finished its opening tournament of the season in 15th place overall.
In a tournament filled with big-name schools, it was the ACC who took the top two spots with the Seminoles of Florida State coming away victorious, topping the standings with a team score of 553. The Louisville Cardinals led after round one, but fell to second with a 558, while the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky placed third (563).
Individually, Alex Clouse led the way for Tom Shaw's squad, tying for 44th place overall with a 147 (73-74). Francisco Osio tied for 55th two shots behind (149, 73-76), while Chase Allison tied for 60th (150, 77-73). Daniel Seibert placed 74th (154, 75-79), while Garrett Glanton rounded out the lineup in 77th place with a 155 (78-77).
ACU will get back on the course in a couple weeks when it heads to Houston for the Colin Montgomerie Invitational hosted by Houston Baptist University. The Wildcats will play at the Cypresswood G.C. – Traditions Course on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 25-26.
