CONWAY, Ark.— After dropping a tough match to Northwestern State, the Wildcats headed to Arkansas to face the Sugar Bears of UCA in an important Southland Conference match. Both schools held a 3-6 conference record going into Saturday's match.

The Wildcats kept pace with UCA early in the match, but a 6-1 run in the first set put the momentum squarely in favor of the Sugar Bears. UCA held the Wildcats to a .167 hitting percentage while also earning the blocking advantage 6-5.

Kennedy Shelstead led the Wildcats once again with nine kills on a .381 hitting percentage. Lindsey Toney was just behind Shelstead with seven kills of her own to go along with three digs and a block assist. Sofia Resendiz led the team with eight digs, while Eighmy Dobbins played one set as the libero and totaled four digs for the match.

News and Notes

Katelyn Mueller saw her first action since suffering an injury in the first match of the season. She totaled four kills and five digs in just over one set of playing time.
Dobbins is the fourth player to suit up as libero for the Wildcats this season.
Lorin McNeil led the team with four block assists.
UCA is only the second conference team to outblock the Wildcats.
