
ACU comes up short in Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark.— After dropping a tough match to Northwestern State, the Wildcats headed to Arkansas to face the Sugar Bears of UCA in an important Southland Conference match. Both schools held a 3-6 conference record going into Saturday's match.
The Wildcats kept pace with UCA early in the match, but a 6-1 run in the first set put the momentum squarely in favor of the Sugar Bears. UCA held the Wildcats to a .167 hitting percentage while also earning the blocking advantage 6-5.
Kennedy Shelstead led the Wildcats once again with nine kills on a .381 hitting percentage. Lindsey Toney was just behind Shelstead with seven kills of her own to go along with three digs and a block assist. Sofia Resendiz led the team with eight digs, while Eighmy Dobbins played one set as the libero and totaled four digs for the match.
