SAN FRANCISCO — The ACU Wildcats posted a solid top-20 team finish Saturday at The Goodwin against the best field an ACU golf team has ever faced.

ACU was one of 21 teams in the 26-team field that posted sub-300 team rounds all three days of the tournament.
Defending national champion and sixth-ranked Oklahoma won the team title over fifth-ranked California as the Sooners finished at 24-under-par 828 after posting rounds of 279-269-280. The Bears of California finished at 21-under-par 831 after carding round of 282-271-278. ACU was led by
Alex Clouse, who closed his tournament with a solid even-par 71 Saturday to finish the tournament tied for 42nd at 3-over-par 216 after carding rounds of 73-7271.
Bryce Dooley finished tied for 47th at 4-over-par 217 after posting rounds of 71-71-75.
Garrett Glanton finished tied for 116th at 15-over-par 228 (72-73-83) and
Kade Miller was tied for 119th at 17-over-par 230 (74-84-72).
Chase Allison finished tied for 122nd at 18-over-par 231 (77-73-81).
"We had a good week overall when you consider that every team in the field was ranked higher than us," ACU head coach
Tom Shaw said. "For the most part, we held our own against some of the nation's top programs. We still have a ways to go to measure up to some of the upper-level programs, but the gap between us and those teams shrinks every year. Participating in tournaments like this moves our even further in the right direction."
The Wildcats will be back in action April 9-10 at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate, hosted by Lipscomb University at the Richland Country Club in Nashville, Tenn.
