Women's tennis in Indiana to start 2018 spring

ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's tennis once again begins its spring season this weekend (Jan. 13-15) in Bloomington, Ind. for the IU Winter Invitational. This year's field is the biggest the Wildcats have been part of since starting their annual sojourn to southern Indiana in 2014, and features teams from Colorado, Marquette, Wright State, DePaul and Mississippi State, which is receiving votes in the first ITA poll of the spring.

Colorado's Linda Huang – ranked 54th nationally in singles – is the only ranked player slated to compete.

Competition begins Saturday at 10 a.m. with two rounds of doubles followed by three rounds of singles. There will be three rounds each of doubles and singles Saturday, and four rounds of doubles Monday.

The Wildcats have just seven players on their spring roster led by seniors and previous all-Southland Conference honorees Lucile Pothier and Whitney Williams. ACU also has back juniors Autumn Crossnoe and Jordan Henry, sophomore Sarah Eleanor Adams, and freshmen Nini Memishishi and Ileana Mocciola.
