ABILENE – The ACU men's basketball team is back at home Saturday afternoon to take on red—hot Sam Houston State in a Southland Conference contest in Moody Coliseum.

The Wildcats are 9-12 overall and 3-7 in the Southland after Wednesday night's 70-69 win over then league co-leader New Orleans in Moody Coliseum. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and gave ACU its third win of the conference season, all over teams in the league's top five: second-place New Orleans, third-place Stephen F. Austin and fifth-place Lamar.

Jalone Friday and sophomore point guard
Jaylen Franklin. Lewis is averaging 14.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories, while Friday is right behind him at 14.1 ppg and 5.9 rpg. Franklin is averaging 10.2 points and 3.8 assists per contest.
ACU is one of the top defensive teams in the league, allowing just 69.9 points per game, and is allowing opponents to shoot just 44.4 percent from the field.
Sam Houston State snapped a 13-game losing streak to Stephen F. Austin on Thursday with a 72-63 win over the Lumberjacks at Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville.
John Dewey III led all scorers with 19 points, including 11 in the second half. The sophomore sunk three of Sam's six 3-pointers. Chris Galbreath Jr. added 12 points and six boards, as the Bearkats shot 85 percent (22 of 26) at the free throw line while out-rebounding the Lumberjacks, 39-27, including eight from Torry Butler.
Senior guard Dakarai Henderson leads the Bearkats in scoring at 10.8 ppg, while senior forward Aurimas Majauskas is second at 10.3 ppg.
