ABILENE – The ACU Wildcats will wrap up more than one month of spring training Friday afternoon with a 100-play controlled scrimmage at Shotwell Stadium.

The scrimmage is set to start at 4 p.m. and will conclude at 6 p.m. The scrimmage is open to the public and there is no admission charge.

ACU head coach Ken Collums said the first team offense will take on the first team defense for 50 plays with the second team offense going against the second team defense for 50 plays. The spring scrimmage wraps up a 15-practice spring training schedule that began on Saturday, March 5 and ran through the middle of April.

Collums is entering his fifth season in charge of the program and the program is coming off an injury-plagued 3-8 season. The Wildcats will begin the 2016 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, in Colorado Springs, Colo., against the U.S. Air Force Academy. ACU's first home game will be Saturday, Sept. 10, against Northern Colorado at Shotwell Stadium.
