Gameday CentralTROY, Ala. – The ACU Wildcats are back on the road this weekend as they take on Sun Belt Conference member Troy at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

ACU lost to No. 25 Northern Arizona, 27-21, Saturday night to fall to 0-2 for the first time since 2002. The Wildcats that season started 0-3 before winning six of their last seven games to finish 6-4. The Wildcats have lost their two games this season by a combined seven points.
Troy enters the game at 0-2 as well after losses to Alabama-Birmingham to start the season and last week at home to Duke. The loss to the Blue Devils was only the 20th home loss for the Trojans under the direction of veteran head coach Larry Blakeney, who is in his 24th season.
Troy and ACU have only met one other time with ACU knocking off the Trojans, 34-7, on Sept. 13, 1975, in Dothan, Ala. The teams meet for the second time 39 years later to the exact date.
The last time the Wildcats beat a team that was at the time playing at the highest level of college football and is currently an FBS program came on Nov. 14, 1959, when ACU rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to beat UTEP, 28-22, in El Paso.
