Corbin Renner carded two solid rounds Monday during the first day of the Red Wolves Intercollegiate golf tournament, helping push him into a tie for sixth place in the individual standings going into Tuesday's final round.
Renner shot an even-par 72 during Monday's first round, and then backed it up with a 1-over-par 73 for a total of 1-over-par 145. Easton Key of tournament host Arkansas State leads the individual standings at 3-under-par 141 after posting rounds of 70-71 on the par-72 RidgePoint Country Club course.
As a team, the Wildcats shot rounds of 304-299 for a 603 total and are tied with New Orleans and Tennessee-Martin for seventh place in the tournament, 23 shots behind team leader Arkansas State, which sits at 580 after carding rounds of 285-295 on Monday. Belmont is in second place at 582 (296-286), followed by Illinois State at 589 (306-283), Nebraskas-Omaha at 590 (296-294), DePaul at 599 (306-293) and South Dakota State at 601 (314-287).
ACU senior
Trey Sullivan had a first-round 79, but came back with a second-round 72 for a 151 total as he sits tied for 26th in the individual standings. Freshman
Robert Johnson shot rounds of 75-78 for a 153 total and is tied for 38th.
Kaden Walters (78-79–157) and
Kyle Karnei (82-76–158) round out ACU's five in the tournament field.
