ABILENE, Texas - Abilene Christian's men's tennis team continues its busy dual-match schedule Saturday with a trip to SMU. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at at the Bent Tree Country Club, which is located about 20 minutes north of SMU's campus just off the Dallas North Tollway.

The Mustangs recently fell to 3-3 on the season after losing a tough match Monday to No. 9 Texas A&M, 4-0, in College Station. The match was the Mustangs' third this season against a top-30 team.

Prior to its loss at A&M, SMU won consecutive decisions vs. Florida Gulf Coast, 4-3, and UTSA, 5-2. The Mustangs' additional losses have come against No. 20 Texas, 7-0 and No. 30 Drake, 4-1, and in between they beat Illinois State, 4-1.

The Wildcats remain at 4-4 following last weekend's home invitational, where they followed losses to No. 1 nationally ranked junior college Tyler, 5-2, and eighth-ranked D-III program Trinity University, 4-3, with back-to-back 5-2 triumphs over D-II teams from Texas-Permian Basin and McMurry.

No. 1 junior Borja Cortés lost his first singles matches of the season on Friday to Tyler and Trinity, but came back to beat his opposition from UT-PB and McMurry in improving to a team best 6-2.

Also playing above .500 for the Wildcats are freshman Nico Agritelley (5-3) and sophomore Jason Proctor (5-2), each of who are on a two-match winning streak along with junior Guilherme Gesser.

Gesser and Agritelley share ACU's best doubles record at 7-1 and won three times together last weekend in beating teams from Tyler, Trinity and McMurry. Gesser and Cortés also won at the No. 1 spot, 6-3, over the duo from UT-Permian Basin.

Agritelley's and Gesser's lone loss this season came at No. 2 doubles at Air Force on Jan. 24.
