ABILENE
- Abilene Christian's softball team will play host to Oklahoma Christian - a DII school from the Heartland Conference - Friday and Saturday for a three-game series at Poly Wells Field.

Game one begins Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader at 1 p.m. Live stats will be made available for each game.

The two schools last met in 2004 as the Wildcats swept a doubleheader from the Lady Eagles by scores of 15-3 and 9-8.

Both teams enter the series with 1-1 records. ACU split its season-opening doubleheader vs. Texas Lutheran Sunday, following a 10-7 win with a 4-3 defeat, while OCU experienced similar results Thursday against Midwestern State. The Lady Eagles hit three home runs in their game one victory, but were held in check in game two, losing 11-4.

Senior Lyndi Smith paced the Wildcats' offense against the Bulldogs of Texas Lutheran, going 4-for-8 with a double, home run and five RBI. She also stole two bases on three attempts. Smith's home run was the 25th of her career and she needs just two more RBI to reach 100.

Other noteworthy performances included senior center fielder Madison Buckley going 3-for-7 vs. the Bulldogs, leaving her six base hits shy of 100. And sophomore Paige Stevens was a perfect 3-for-3 with three singles, two runs and a RBI in her game two start.

Wildcat freshman Hannah Null recorded her first career save in game one as she struck out five over 2.2 innings pitched. She totaled 40 pitches in her collegiate debut before starting game two in which she struck out seven over 7.0 non-consecutive innings of work.
