The Wildcats take on the Huskies Thursday at 7 p.m. for its annual
Dig Pink match that will be broadcast live on
ACUSports.com by

The Islanders come to town Saturday at 2 p.m.
Fans coming to Thursday's match are encouraged to wear pink and make a donation via the
Wildcats' Dig Pink page at side-out.org. The
Side-Out Foundation partners with volleyball players and coaches to have them work toward the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and patient services. Side-Out supports teams in their fundraising efforts and contributes the funds to organizations that serve breast cancer patients, whether it be in the form of research, medical services or patient support.
"Our team nicknamed this year's specific fundraising effort, 'Quarters for a Cure,' said former Wildcat and graduate assistant coach
Caley Johnson, "and each girl on our team has pledged to donate a quarter for every dig we have vs. HBU. We want to encourage our friends, family, students and staff, and all who have been affected by cancer to join our campaign."

The Wildcats begin this week still in search of it first Southland Conference win. Last week ACU finished a five-match road trip with two more close losses against Lamar and Sam Houston State.
The Cardinals prevailed in five sets, but only after the Wildcats went on a magnificent 6-0 run at the end of game four to win, 25-23. But it was all Lamar in game five, where the Cardinals led from wire-to-wire, in winning 15-6.
Two days later in Huntsville, the Wildcats had the Bearkats on the ropes in games one and two but could never quite get themselves over the top, falling 30-28 and 29-27. In game three, ACU trailed by as many as 12 points at 22-10 before scoring 10 of the last 13 points.

Jennifer Loerch remains fourth in the Southland rankings in kills with 3.86 per set, while libero
Madison Hoover (3.86 digs) and setter
Sarah Siemens (7.87 assists) rank 10th in digs and assists. Sophomore middle blocker
Lexi Mercier had 11 blocks last weekend (three solo) to crack the top-five in the Southland blocks category with 1.03 per set.
Houston Baptist has lost its last three and comes into Thursday's match at 7-12 overall and 2-3 vs. the Southland. Last week the Huskies were swept by both Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fared somewhat better last weekend as it followed a 3-1 loss to the Ladyjacks with a 3-1 home win over the Lady Demons. The victory vs. Northwestern State pushed its overall and Southland records to 10-12 and 3-2.
ACU lost to both the Huskies (L, 3-2) and Islanders (L, 3-1) on the road last season.
