FIRST PITCH
The Wildcats travel to Texas Woman's to resume LSC South Division play after going 1-3 at the LSC Crossover Tournament in San Angelo, Texas. ACU was not the only South Division team to take some hard knocks as the North took 29 of the 40 games during the three day tournament. The Wildcats lone win came in extra innings against Cameron as Candice Miller drove a sacrifice fly to score the go ahead run in the eighth inning for a, 4-3 win. Tournament Champion Midwestern State took a decisive 9-2 win from the Wildcats to open the tournament on Friday as they went to finish with a 5-1 record on the weekend and take home the tournament trophy. Closing out Saturday ACU fell to Northeastern State 8-2 before dropping a pair of games on Sunday, 3-0 to Southwestern Oklahoma and 6-1 against Central Oklahoma. This weekend ACU will try to rebound against the Pioneers who dropped all five games at the Crossover and only managed to score two runs, being shutout in three of their five games. Missy Mendoza leads the Wildcats hitting at a .422 clip with 14 doubles as her 16 game hitting streak came to an end over the weekend. Her 20 RBIs are tied for second best on the team behind Valentina Nabayan's 30 RBIs while her 9 home runs are also tops.
