SAN ANTONIO – For the third time this season the Wildcats will play St. Mary's in non-conference softball action at the St. Mary's softball field for a two game series on Saturday, before heading to Austin for a double-header with St. Edward's on Sunday.

FIRST PITCH?
The Wildcats will be facing St. Mary's for the third time already this season having met in the St. Mary's College Softball Classic and at ACU's Whitten Inn Classic. This season the series is tied at 1-1 with the home team winning each game. The Rattlers took an extra inning win in San Antonio, 5-6, while the Wildcats pounded 10 hits including a walk-off grand slam for a 15-4, five inning win. It will also be the second time the Wildcats and Hilltoppers have locked up as they both met at the St. Mary's Softball Classic in San Antonio in early February as well. ACU took a 7-4 decision in the season opener for both squads.
LAST TIME OUT
ACU finished 4-2 at the South Central Region Shootout as the fell to No. 8 Nebraska-Omaha and Henderson State. The Wildcats picked up wins on the first two days over Washburn and Southern Arkansas before closing out the tournament on Sunday with wins over Central Missouri and Newman.
THE OPPONETS
ST. MARY'S – The Rattlers are 9-8 on the season and play Incarnate Word on Friday afternoon. St. Mary's has lost their last five after winning five of six to open the season.
ST. EDWARD'S – The Hilltoppers are 10-4 and winners of their last 8 of 9 games as they split a home series with LSC opponent Incarnate Word.
WHO TO WATCH
Freshman outfielder, Ashley Nolan hit .347 at the South Central Region Shootout with 5 RBIs. This season a different player has stepped up big at the plate for head coach Bobby Reeves. Nolan started every game over the weekend and has only committed one error so far on the season and is hitting .300.
Senior pitcher, Brittany Rexroat picked up three wins over the weekend and is now 4-1 on the season with a 3.13 ERA. The Glendale, Arizona, native had a season high six strikeouts against Newman and will look to avenge her only loss of the season against St. Mary's.
UP NEXT
ACU will host LSC North foe Southeastern Oklahoma in a mid-week non-conference game before making their first appearance in the Midwestern State Tournament in Wichita Falls.
