DURANT , Okla. – ACU picked up a win Saturday morning at the South Central Region Shootout over Southern Arkansas, 6-1, before falling to No. 8 Nebraska-Omaha, 7-0 in the second game of their double-header at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.
Brittany Rexroat picked up her fourth win of the season scattering five hits over seven innings against Southern Arkansas.
Missy Mendoza was 2 for 3 scoring two runs in the win, while third baseman Valentina Nabayan went 1 for 1 with a two run homer and a pair of walks. Junior Tiana Tuieni was also 2 for 2 on the morning with a run scored.
In the Wildcats afternoon contest the 8th-ranked Mavericks held ACU to only four hits. Dana Elsasser struck out five as she held the Wildcats' bats at bay.
Shelby Hall took the loss for ACU as she kept UNO scoreless into the fourth inning. However the Mavericks were able to produce four runs on five hits giving Elsasser all the supports she needed.
UNO would add a single run in the fifth and pick up their sixth and seventh runs off Peyton Mosely who relieved Hall in the sixth.
ACU finishes the South Central Shootout Sunday against MIAA opponent Central Missouri at noon. The Wildcats will close out the tournament at 4 p.m. against Heartland Conference member Newman.
