BLACKWATER DRAW, N.M. – ACU director of athletics Jared Mosley announced Friday that Saturday's Webcast of the ACU-Eastern New Mexico football game will be free of charge to all fans.
ACU is partnering with YOE TV to bring viewers near-HD quality broadcasts over the internet. ACU normally charges viewers to watch the game, but will not do so this weekend because of the uncertainty of a quality internet signal in Portales, N.M. Fans will still have to register and set up an account, but the game broadcast will be free.
"We've been extremely happy with our association with YOE TV the last few weeks," Mosley said, "but we feel like we need to offer this game for free because of the internet situation in New Mexico."
Fans will notice some differences in the broadcast presentation as well this weekend as ACU will only be using one camera and won't have the graphic overlays that show the score, quarter and time. Also, because ACU will be presenting the broadcast with the help of a wireless air card, the quality of the broadcast might vary throughout the game.
Also, fans will be able to listen to the game locally on Mix 92.5 FM, and fans across the world can listen to the audio feed on the Mix 92.5 FM Web site. The audio feed on the Web is also free for this week only.
