ABILENE – After knocking off Midwestern State for their first Division win on Saturday, the ACU Wildcats will travel to Canyon for a mid-week match with rival West Texas A&M.
The Wildcats picked up their first win on Saturday since a home blowout win against East Central in mid-December. Hillari Adam hit two free throws with under two second left to put ACU in the win column at 1-1 with an 80-77 win over the Mustangs.
Last year ACU swept the season series with WT for the first time under Shawna Lavender including a 78-72 win in Canyon. It was the first win for the Wildcats at the First United Bank Center since ACU picked up a 79-71 win in the arena's first game in 2003.
The Lady Buffs entered the season ranked No. 7 in the pre-season polls but injuries and a grueling schedule have them at just 9-6. WT is however off to a 2-0 start in South Division play after knocking off Incarnate Word and Eastern New Mexico last week.
