ACU Women’s Basketball To Host Open Practice, Meet and Greet Dinner Oct. 21

ABILENE - Abilene Chrisitan women's basketball will ring in the 2025-26 campaign with an open practice and meet and greet dinner at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The open practice will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a team dinner and an introduction to the 2025-26 Wildcats at about 7 p.m. in the Moody Coliseum club level.

Tickets for the meet and greet dinner with student-athletes and staff are $25 per person and are available at this link. Registration is required and is due by Monday, Oct. 20 at 11:59 p.m.

The evening offers ACU fans the chance to gain a preview of the new season from head coach Julie Goodenough and her staff while getting to better know the student-athletes. The Wildcats' roster features seven returners from last season along with six newcomers.

Attendees can also meet and connect with fellow supporters of ACU women's basketball. Wildcat merchandise will be available for purchase as well.

ACU is on the heels of a 2024-25 season that featured a 22-13 record with a run to the Super 16 of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. The Wildcats built a 9-7 mark in Western Athletic Conference play, marking their most victories, highest overall winning percentage and highest conference winning percentage since 2020.

ACU returns five of its top six scorers from last season, including All-WAC Second Team center Meredith Mayes and 2023-24 WAC Freshman of the Year Payton Hull. Mayes ranked third in the conference in rebounds and blocks per game, while Hull led the WAC in scoring despite missing 13 conference games with an injury.

The Wildcats ranked in the conference's top four in scoring offense and defense, averaging 71.51 points while limiting opponents to 61.77 points per game.

ACU meets Houston Christian in an exhibition at Moody Coliseum on Oct. 24 before opening the season at home versus Howard Payne on Nov. 3.
