STORY LINES
LAST TIME OUT
The ACU Wildcats improved to 2-0 on the season for the fourth time in head coach Chris Thomsen's six seasons last Saturday with a 43-13 win over Northeastern State. The Wildcats' special teams were dominant in the win, blocking three punts (returning two for touchdowns) and returning another punt for a touchdown. Defensively, the Wildcats held the RiverHawks to just 35 yards in the second half (204 total) and recorded four sacks, two by junior all-America defensive end
Aston Whiteside. The Tigers, meanwhile, saw their losing streak stretch to 15 games with a 20-7 home loss to No. 6 Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Javelinas dominated the Tigers, outgaining them 452-87, but four interceptions by the Tigers kept them in the game. East Central was limited to minus-9 yards rushing in the game.
