SKILLMAN, N.J. – In the first edition of the Division II Campbell /ITA College Tennis Rankings ACU is one of 16 teams to have both their men's and women's team in the top 25. The Wildcat women cracked the top 10 while the men came in at No. 25.
Both squads have packed their early season schedules with top teams from around the country including a few top ranked Division I programs. The women are looking to get back to the National Tournament after just barely missing out on the National Title match.
The Wildcat women – who are debuting at No. 7 – are back at home this weekend after going 2-3 at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Teams participating this weekend are Lone Star Conference member Southeastern Oklahoma, future LSC member Incarnate Word and Lee College.
The men's side has been no different with tough early season scheduling. The Wildcats ran into three tough squads in Texas Tech, New Mexico and UT-San Antonio, all Division I schools.
After picking up a win against St. Mary's last weekend, ACU will look to get back on the winning track at home. Head Coach Hutton Jones hopes that the tough early season competition pays off as this weekend the Wildcats host Southeastern Oklahoma, Incarnate Word, and New Mexico Military Institute.
