ABILENE – ACU took down Texas-Permian Basin, 3-0 inside Moody Coliseum in non-conference action Tuesday night.
The Wildcats made quick work of the Falcons in a match that took just 65 minutes to complete. For the fourth consecutive match ACU held its opponent to a sub .100 hitting percentage as the Falcons hit just .090 on the evening. ACU hit .269 over the three sets moving to 17-3 on the season while UTPB falls to 8-15.
Offensively the Wildcats were solid at the net led by
Jordan Schilling who finished with 10 kills.
Shawna Hines was close behind with nine as she hit a blistering .778 with no errors in the win.
ACU got double figure assists from two setters tonight as IJ Moronu led the way with 25 through the first two sets. Freshman setter
Caley Johnson recorded 12 assists as she helped ACU close out the win in the third set.
On the defensive side of the net ACU only recorded six team blocks but had three players in double figure digs. Schilling led the way with 14 while
Jennie Hutt and
Kalynne Allen each had 12 respectively.
The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday as the travel to Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference action. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Wichita Falls.
