ABILENE -- The ACU Wildcats won their 20th match of the season in rather easy fashion Saturday afternoon, taking just 63 minutes to sweep Southwestern Oklahoma State in a Lone Star Conference match at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse.
The Wildcats' 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 win over the Lady Bulldogs pushes them 20-5 overall and 6-1 on the season, while SWOSU falls to 5-24 and 2-6. ACU will return to action Thursday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Midwestern State in an LSC match at Moody Coliseum.
ACU junior outside hitter
Jordan Schilling continued her stellar season with 14 kills and a .387 hitting percentage. The Wildcats hit .280 in the match compared minus-.029 for Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Schilling was the only Wildcat in double figures in kills, although freshmen
Jorden Sliva and
Heather Leyva had six kills apiece.
Ijeoma Moronu had 31 assists, seven digs and three total blocks.
Junior middle blocker
Shawna Hines played just one set in the match, but finished with four kills.
