Wildcats Stay Perfect at Home

ABILENE – The Wildcats improved their record inside Moody Coliseum to a perfect 7-0 on Saturday after quickly dispatching Texas A&M-Commerce. ACU improves to 17-5 and 4-1 in the LSC, while the Lions fall to 18-7 and 3-3 on the season.
Led by senior Shawna Hines who currently leads the nation in blocks added seven more to her total while also recording eight kills.
The Wildcats jumped on the Lions early taking the first two sets quickly with identical scores of 25-17.
ACU put the Lions away using a .310 attacking percentage where Ijeoma Moronu and Jennie Hutt teamed up with four kills. Moronu recorded a double-double with 34 assists and 11 digs.
TAMCU rallied in the third set however the Wildcats were too much as they forced three errors and used a kill by Hutt to pull away at 22-22. Jordan Schilling forced the final error by the Lions as ACU took the third set 25-22.
The Wildcats will continue at home on Tuesday night against non-conference foe Dallas Baptist before returning to LSC next weekend.
