ACU sixth in fall finale

SAN ANTONIO -- The ACU golf team finished in sixth place Tuesday at the Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational golf tournament.
The tournament was the final competitive tournament of the fall for the Wildcats, who finish the fall season ranked No. 12 in the nation. ACU shot rounds of 311 and 302 for a two-round total of 613 in the rain-shortened tournament at the Pecan Valley Country Club. NAIA powerhouse Texas Wesleyan won the tournament going away, firing a 36-hole total of 594 (26-over-par) to win by 11 strokes over Centrao Oklahoma, which checked in at 37-over-par 605.
Stephen Knight was ACU's top individual finisher, tying for fifth place in the medalist standings at 5-over-par 150 after shooting rounds of 76-74. Hilton Funk was tied for 10th for ACU at 9-over-par 151 (75-76), and Erik Manning was tied for 11th at 11-over-par 153 (77-76). ACU's other finishers were Charles Levitte (85-76--151 for 54th) and Patrick Hanauer (80-83--164 for 55th).
