SAN ANTONIO - The ACU Wildcats closed out their strong fall golf season Tuesday with a fourth-place finish at The Rattler Invitational.
The Wildcats finished behind tournament champion Texas A&M, runner-up St. Edward's and third-place finisher Baylor. ACU shot rounds of 298-290-289 to finish at 877, 15 strokes behind Texas A&M (286-288-288). St. Edward's was four strokes back at 866 (295-286-285), while Baylor was 13 strokes behind the Aggies at 875 (295-291-289).
ACU's top finishers were Hugues Joannes and Patrick Hanauer, each of whom finished tied for 15th in the individual medalist standings. Joannes - ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II golf and No. 6 in all divisions - fired rounds of 73-71-75 to finish at 219, while Hanauer shots rounds of 71-76-72 to also finish at 219.
Stephen Knight finished tied for 20th at 220 (75-74-71), while Curtis Harris was tied for 31st at 223 (79-73-71) and Hilton Funk was tied for 48th at 227 (79-72-76).
The Wildcats closed the fall golf season ranked No. 10 in the Golfstat NCAA Division II national golf ranks.
