A.M. "Tonto" Coleman begins a six-year term as commissioner of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The former Wildcat three-sport athlete and coach was re-elected in, 1972 but retired and returned to live in Abilene. He died in October, 1973 and in February, 1987 was the first person inducted into the ACU Sports Hall of Fame.

Diego Cardenas rounds the bases after hitting a home run in ACU's series with Loyola Marymount on March 13-15, 2026 at Crutcher Scott Field at Bullock Brothers Ballpark.
