Biography
2022-2023: Outdoors – competed in 8 meets for ACU, winning the David Noble javelin with a new PR of 144-10/44.15m, placed 2nd in the War Hawk JT, and placed 4th in the Oliver Jackson JT and TTU Corky/Crofoot JT. She finished the season by getting 5th at the WAC championship in the javelin.
2020-2022 at Hardin-Simmons: Outdoors – went to HSU originally to play softball and was an all-region softball player for the Cowboys. In 2021, she started throwing the javelin and she won the American Southwest Conference javelin title in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, she garnered her first T&F All-America honors by finishing 11th at the NCAA Division III championship held at the SPIRE Institute facility in Geneva, OH. Kaitlyn also was the T&F captain in 2022 for HSU.
Before college: Competed for the Cool Runnings Homeschool team based in Abilene and in 2016 was the Texas State Homeschool T&F champion in the 14 and under 800. Her primary sport in HS was softball – she played for Jim Ned in Tuscola, where she received 1st-team national softball honors.
Personal: Homeschooled for middle school and high school on her family ranch, she finished HS in 2019. Received her undergraduate degree as a Dean’s List graduate from Hardin-Simmons in spring, 2022. Currently pursuing an MBA degree at ACU. She also works for the ACU Compliance Office – she hopes to go into University Athletic Compliance as a career. Her parents, Jeff and Emily Callaway, were both letter winners at HSU – her father in football and her mother in golf. Her maternal grandfather, Troy Limbaugh, was a baseball letterman at HSU. Her brother, Stetson, played baseball for Western Texas College. Kaitlyn attends the Beltway South Church in Abilene.
