Johnson joins the softball team after spending the fall with ACU’s soccer team and helping head coach Casey Wilson and the Wildcats to their first LSC postseason tournament appearance in school history. Expected to provide depth in the outfield for Chantiel Wilson in 2009.
ACU Soccer (2008):
Appeared in 17 games as a freshman and started two games. Recorded an assist in a 3-0 win over John Brown Sept. 12 when she set up teammate Katie Miller for a goal. Took seven shots and had four on goal as a midfielder.
High School:
Played four seasons of varsity soccer and played her sophomore and junior seasons for head coach Mary Cauchon on the Quartz Hill High School softball squad. As a junior, she hit .224, scored 14 runs, drove in 12 runs and had two home runs in 26 games. She stole three bases and recorded three assists from the outfield. As a sophomore she hit .333 in 13 games and scored five runs. As a soccer player, she played four seasons for head coach Robert Daniel. Johnson led her team to an 18-5-1 record her senior season and recorded two assists on the season from the backfield. She was a second team All-Golden League Girls Team selection and helped the Rebels to a second-round playoff appearance.
