2017-18 (Junior): INDOORS … Competed in the shot put and weight throw for the Wildcats finishing seventh in both events at the Southland Conference Championships … Tossed marks of 52-3.25 (shot put) and 55-7.75 (weight throw) … Both season high marks were tossed at the conference championships … OUTDOORS … Second Team All-Conference discus … Competed in nine meets in discus, hammer and shot put … Finished second in discus with a personal best mark of 183-5, 10th in shot put (49-9.75) and 14th in hammer (130-8) at the conference meet … Qualified for NCAA West Preliminary meet in discus, finishing 28th with a throw of 168-6.
 
2016-17 (Sophomore): Southland Commissioners Honor Roll … INDOORS … Finished fourth at the J.D. Martin Invitational throwing 47-9 and 13^th (49-2.5) at the Southland Conference Championships in shot put … OUTDOORS … Tool first in discus at the Southland Conference Championships with a throw of 176-7 and eighth in shot put (52-10) …  PR in shot put of 53-1 and 178-8 in discus at the ACU Wildcat Open.
 
2016 (Freshman): INDOORS … Competed in four meets for the Wildcats in shot put … Finished 19^th at the Southland Conference Championships with a throw of 45-4.5 … OUTDOORS … Competed in shot put and discus in seven meets including the Southland Conference Championships finishing 12^th in shot put (46-11.75) and 11^th in discus (150-9).
 
High school: Helped the Wildcats to a perfect regular-season record (10-0), District 2-5A championship and third round of the playoffs as a junior in 2012. He was a second team All-District 2-5A selection at offensive tackle as both a junior and senior. As a senior in 2014, Hunter won the District 2-5A championship in the shot put at 52 feet, 9.50 inches, and then went on to finish third in the event at the Region I-5A area meet at 50-11.50. Also lettered in powerlifting.
