2013-14 (senior): No. 1 runner for ACU at first five meets, then finished No. 2 for ACU at league meet Nov. 1 in Lake Charles with 27:19 for 8k for 45th place overall as Wildcats finished 10th in standings among 14 teams behind champion Lamar. Only top 10 finish was 26:53 for 10th place at McMurry in season opener. Best time was 26:26 for 84th place at IU Pre-Nationals Oct. 19 in Terre Haute. Academic all-LSC.
2012-13 (junior): ACU’s third runner at LSC cross country meet in Lawton, Okla., with 26:35 for 8k for 26th place. Earned LSC academic all-conference for team that placed seventh in league. His other 8k performances included 26:30 at McMurry (fifth place), 27:52 at Texas Tech (36) and 28:05 at Oklahoma State (96). Team’s second or third runner at each of four meets. Indoors he had bests of 4:40.12 in mile, 9:03.54 in 3,000 (7th at LSC) and 15:57.87 in 5,000 (8th at LSC) for league championship team. Improved outdoors to 4:30.38 in 1,500, 16:00.56 in 5,000 and 33:54.01 in 10,000 but failed to score at league meet.
2011-12 (sophomore): Named LSC cross country academic Runner of the Year for 2011 after Wildcats finished runner-up in San Angelo. Forrister finished 16th in individual standings with 26:25 for 8k for his best time of season. Finished among ACU’s top three at each of seven meets, including No. 2 at Oklahoma State, Midwestern State and Angelo State. Finished among overall individual top 10 at ACU, MSU and ASU. One of only three Wildcats at NCAA regional (33:32 for 57th place in 10k). Indoors he posted top times of 9:04.37 in 3000 at LSC invitational in Lubbock for third place and 15:58.61 in 5000 at LSC invitational for fifth place. Also academic all-LSC for outdoor track and field. Had top times of 4:12.98 in 1,500 at Texas-Arlington, 8:58.01 for 3,000 at Texas State, 15:30.23 for 5,000 at Baylor and non-scoring 33:14.46 for 10,000 at league meet in Commerce. Also non-scoring 15:40.68 in LSC 5,000.
2010-11 (freshman): In first Wildcat outdoor competition ran top times of 2:10.03 in 800 at UTEP, 4:21.06 for 1500 at UTEP and 15:49.54 for 5k at Texas-Arlington. Turned in top times indoors of 4:34.99 in mile in Nebraska, 9:08.72 in 3k in Nebraska and 16:04.41 for 5k at Texas Tech. In cross country he ran top times of 20:08.6 for 6k at Baylor, 22:12.77 for 4 miles at Central Missouri, and 26:48.39 for 8k at LSC meet. He finished 46th in league meet as Wildcats repeated as LSC cross country champions.
High School: Competed in tennis, cross country, and track and field. Top times include 9:37.69 in 3,200 and 4:31.21 for 1,600. Three-time state qualifier in cross country and twice served as team captain. Top finish at state was 14th to earn all-state honors. Also state qualifier in track and field in 3,200 with best finish of fourth as senior in 3200 in 9:37.69 in Class 3A in 2010. Runner-up in 3200 at regional to advance to Austin. Member of National Honor Society.
