Mason Banger joined the ACU golf staff in December 2022 as assistant men's golf coach.
Banger was the assistant men's golf coach at the University of Louisiana in 2020-21 and served as the graduate assistant at Harding University in 2018-19.
He received his bachelor of science degree in sport and recreation management from Harding in 2018 and an MSE in kinesiology from Harding in 2020.
Banger played golf for four years at Harding, where he holds the records for most wins, best stroke average, most rounds under par, most rounds played and best winning percentage. He was a three-time All-Great American Conference golfer, including first-team accolades in 2018, when he also earned PING All-Region honors.
A team captain at HU, Banger was Academic All-Conference and a 2018 Srixon/Cleveland Gof and GCAA All-American Scholar Athlete. He also earned the GAC D2 Completion Award and was the professional caddy for Harry Ellis at the 2018 US Open and 2018 Memorial Tournament.
Mason and his wife, Caroline Lea Banger, attend Beltway South Church in Abilene. Caroline is the marketing coordinator for ACU's graduate program.
