ACU's season-ending gauntlet begins Saturday with LSC South game vs. resurgent Rams

SAN ANGELO – It’s been a while since longtime rivals ACU and Angelo State have played as meaningful a football game as the one they’ll play Saturday night.

The Wildcats enter the game ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II Super Region 4, No. 2 in the
nation and 6-0 on the season. The Wildcats are also riding a program-record 16-game
regular-season winning streak and a six-game road winning streak.

The Rams, meanwhile, are enjoying a return to their winning ways in 2009. Angelo State enters Saturday night’s game ranked No. 7 in the region, No. 23 in the nation and 5-1 on the
season.

Both teams are 4-0 in the Lone Star Conference with the Rams at 2-0 in the LSC South Division and ACU at 1-0 in the division.
